1993 Gibson Thunderbird — Player-Grade

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1993 Gibson Thunderbird, a true player’s instrument with a distinctive personality and plenty of life left to give. Far from a pristine collector’s piece, this bass has been personalized and modified over the years to suit real-world gigging and tone-seeking players.
This Thunderbird features a number of thoughtful upgrades, including Fender tuners, a Badass bridge, and a Nady wireless system, as well as a Gibson Custom Shop sticker on the back of the headstock. These modifications leave visual traces—a threaded bushing from the original bridge, a switch, a small indicator light, and a 9V battery compartment for the wireless—but they speak to a bass that has been actively used, dialed in, and enjoyed rather than tucked away.
Cosmetically, this Thunderbird is in fair condition, reflecting a life onstage and in rehearsal. A previously repaired headstock break is present, but the instrument remains structurally sound and fully capable of delivering the punch, growl, and articulate low-end Gibson basses are known for. Whether you’re looking for a solid gigging bass, a tone-heavy workhorse, or a project instrument to make your own, this Thunderbird offers a rare combination of personality, potential, and genuine Gibson tone.
The bass comes complete with its original Gibson USA hardshell case, ready to hit the stage or workshop immediately.
