Gibson Serial Numbers

Gibson serial numbers help you authenticate and date your instrument. Locations vary by model and decade:

• Les Pauls: back of the headstock, neck heel
• SGs: back of the headstock
• ES models: back of the headstock, inside F-holes
• Acoustics (J-45, etc.): inside the soundhole

Pre-Norlin vs Norlin Era Guitars
