Orville Gibson began selling mandolins in 1894 out of his one room workspace in Kalamazoo, Michigan, beginning what would go on to become one of the most popular musical instrument brands in history. For ninety eight years old this mandolin is in almost new condition. We have placed the instrument under a black light to confirm that no finish repairs have been done, in addition to looking over the structural integrity of this fine piece.
