A current appraisal is essential when it comes to insuring or selling your vintage guitar. At Garrett Park Guitars, we understand the importance of accurately assessing your instrument’s value — not just as a financial figure, but as a piece of history and craftsmanship.

Whenever possible, we prefer to conduct appraisals in person. This hands-on approach lets us thoroughly examine your guitar’s condition, originality, and unique details to provide the most precise evaluation.

If you’re not nearby, don’t worry — we’re fully equipped to appraise remotely when you provide detailed, clear photos of your guitar and its components. No matter how the appraisal is done, you’ll receive a formal, written document outlining the guitar’s description and current market value.

Our appraisal fee is $100.

If you’re simply looking for a general idea of your guitar’s worth, we’re happy to provide an informal ballpark figure free of charge. While these estimates aren’t as detailed or authoritative as a full appraisal, they can give you a helpful starting point.

What We Look For

    The name on the headstock matters. Guitars from iconic brands like Fender, Gibson, and Martin carry legacy, craftsmanship, and collector demand. We draw from decades of brand-specific experience to evaluate your instrument accurately and respectfully.

  • 🔍 Age & Authenticity

    Serial numbers, neck stamps, and other production details help us determine when and where your guitar was made. This step is key to verifying its authenticity and placing it in the correct historical and market context.

  • 🌲 Materials

    Wood types, construction techniques, electronic components, and hardware all shape an instrument’s tone and worth. From Brazilian rosewood to Adirondack spruce, we identify and evaluate the materials that make your guitar special — and sought after.

  • 🛠️ Condition

    The overall condition of your instrument — including wear, originality, repairs, and modifications — plays a major role in its market value. We assess everything from finish checking to replaced parts to give you a fair, expert evaluation.
