2002 Martin HD-28VS

Garrett Park Guitars

This guitar is in our Hall of Fame Collection and is no longer available for purchase.

For your consideration Garrett Park Guitars presents this 2002 Martin HD-28VS

The 12 fret Martin D-28 was indeed a rare animal when it was introduced by Martin back in 1931. In fact, between the years of 1931 to 1933 only 17 of these venerable guitars were made. Martin began to re-issue this classic 12-fret dreadnought back in 1996 and it has been a part of their catalog ever since.

This guitar is from 2002, and is a fine example of a big, evenly voiced dreadnought. Thick treble and balanced mids are supported by large bass tones that manage to be big, yet not boomy. Thanks to the 12 fret to the body design, the guitar also offers up some pretty sweet overtones. A modified ‘V’ neck, herringbone binding and a 1-3/4” nut add to the vintage feel of the instrument.

Indian rosewood back and sides, Sitka spruce top, scalloped standard X-bracing, Waverly tuners, vintage belly ebony bridge with thru saddle, ebony fingerboard with diamond and square inlays, This guitar is in excellent condition, without cracks, repairs, or any significant finish flaws. Set-up in our shop with medium gage strings.

With original Martin hardshell case
