1977 PRS Pre Factory

Garrett Park Guitars

This guitar is in our Hall of Fame Collection and is no longer available for purchase.

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1977 PRS Pre Factory.

This amazing guitar was built by Paul Smith for Gary Cox, who was an early ambassador of PRS guitars when he played in Artful Dodger, a band signed to Columbia Records. Paul and Gary met and conceptualized the design. Gary took the guitar on the road with him and later gave Paul his feedback on design that helped Paul to take his guitar building to the next level. This guitar is a part of PRS Guitars history.

The guitar is solid Honduran Mahogany with Brazilian Rosewood used for the fingerboard. The bird in flight inlays are made from Mother of Pearl. Pickups were hand wound by Paul using Seymour Duncan bobbins. This is one of Paul's earliest guitars dating back to 1977 and sports the earliest incarnation of PRS  headstock design. Comes with a '70s Gibson hard shell Les Paul case.

This fantastic piece of PRS history is also a fabulous instrument.

Condition: Good-Very Good with signs of player wear and mods by the builder
