For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1969 Martin D12-35.
Martin's Style 35 is distinguished from its more ubiquitous peers by a signature three-piece rosewood back. While the D-35 was introduced as a more visually distinctive alternative to the D-28, the earliest examples are especially coveted for their use of Brazilian rosewood, as seen on this exceptional guitar, which was among the last produced to feature the legendary tonewood before Martin transitioned to East Indian.
This 12-string offers more than a visual aesthetic, however, delivering the rich harmonic complexity that have made these late-1960s Martins favorites among collectors, recording artists, and discerning players. The comfortable 24.9-inch scale softens string tension, making this classic twelve-string remarkably enjoyable to play while retaining the full, ringing voice for which the model is known.
This guitar remains in excellent condition, retaining its original finish with only light cosmetic wear that is below average for a guitar of this age. Structurally, it is equally impressive, showing no cracks or repairs. At some point, it was fitted with a Fishman soundhole pickup, with the output routed through the endpin. An aftermarket TKL hardshell case is included.
