1965 Gibson Melody Maker
For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1965 Gibson Melody Maker double cutaway with cherry red finish.
The Gibson Melody Maker Double Cut appeared in 1961, and features a thin Mahogany slab body, Mahogany neck, and Rosewood fingerboard. The hardware includes Kluson Deluxe tuners with creme plastic buttons, a stop-bar wraparound bridge/tailpiece, and electronics mounted entirely on the pickguard. The neck features a 1.66 inch nut, with a wide and flat fingerboard for fast traveling on the neck. The pickups and controls are clear and crisp.
Cosmetically, this guitar has a smooth and shiny finish with a curious mar on the back of the body where some fabric appears to have been in contact with the finish during the application process or in a very hot car (looks a bit like a seatbelt). It doesn't break the finish and barely shows up in pictures.
