1961 Fender Stratocaster Sunburst

Garrett Park Guitars

This guitar is in our Hall of Fame Collection and is no longer available for purchase.

For your consideration Garrett Park Guitars present this 1961 Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst

This guitar defines the term "vintage player", and had has years of continual use in bars and clubs to deeply embed the mojo that emerges from it. If you want a pristine virginal vintage guitar this one is not for you, BUT if it is tone and silky broken in playability you seek, this one will delight you. Equipped with new pots and pickups (Lindy Fralins) as well as an old refret by Paul Smith himself this guitar sparkles with tone. This neck is so amazingly worn in that it will immediately feel like an old friend. The profile is a C, but the neck is progressively thicker as one moves up the register. The slab Brazilian fingerboard is dark and feels super comfortable. The frets are in great shape and allows for smooth bending along the entire fingerboard. Tuners & saddles have been replaced but the original nut and tremolo arm are intact and on hand. Comes with original tan lined brown case and tremolo arm.

This guitar was owned by its second owner since 1978 and toured the US and Europe with the Bill Blue Band. Both its previous owner, a native of Lynchburg Virginia, his brother and his best friend  all carved their initials in her like badges of honor. You will look long and hard to find a better Stratocaster.
