1953-1956 Kluson Deluxe No-Line Inline Tuner — Patent Applied

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this vintage Kluson Deluxe tuning machine.

This is a no-line Kluson Deluxe tuner featuring both the “PAT APPLD” stamp and patent number 2356766, dating it to the early 1950s. The presence of both markings reflects a transitional production period, when Kluson continued using earlier “PAT APPLD” stamp tooling even after the patent had been granted.

This style of individual tuner was used on early Fender instruments with inline headstocks, including models such as the Telecaster and Stratocaster. Given the orientation and tapered end, it was likely the low E-string tuner.

The tuner shows some corrosion, which is cosmetic only, and functions smoothly.

A great candidate for vintage restoration or as a period-correct replacement.
