For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1987 Martin D-18 Limited Editon, Quilted Mahogany from “THE TREE”

This 1987 Martin Limited Edition D-18 was one of 15 pieces made with this beautiful yet dense mahogany which gives the guitar a darker, punchier tone. Constructed with a gorgeous flamed mahogany back and sides over a spruce top and while the mahogany is dense, this guitar is anything but, weighing in at 4lb 5oz. The neck profile is a comfortable V shape topped with an ebony fingerboard. Devoid of any breaks or cracks, this D-18 is in fantastic shape with the tone to boot! Comes with its original hardshell case.

This is a limited edition #4/15 of the rarest wood. (Google "Quilted Mahogany/The Tree" to get the whole story).  Much more rare than Brazilian Rosewood this is only one tree ever found with this type of quilted mahogany. Most of the quilt from the tree went into furniture, not guitars. Forward shifted Scalloped bracing, Ebony bridge, and fretboard, Tortoise binding and Geib style hard case.
