For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1963 Gibson SG Special in Polaris White.
Just in is this cool 1963 Gibson SG Special. This SG sounds exceptional. It has the wider 1 11/16 inch nut width and It also has a nice medium-C neck profile.
The Brazilian Rosewood fretboard is in fantastic condition, and the original frets are in great shape too. There is some significant finish checking in places, evidence of the amount of paint Gibson used on this and other custom color SGs of this era and also of the heat and humidity of low country South Carolina where this guitar spent its formative years.
Structurally, this guitar is in great shape (Pete Townsend never got near it), making it an excellent addition to round out your collection. As importantly, this SG plays really nicely with ringing acoustic resonance. All metal parts are nickel, as they should be, and the tremolo is set up nicely. Overall this is a wonderful vintage guitar.
