1956 Gibson GA-40 Amp

Garrett Park Guitars

This guitar is in our Hall of Fame Collection and is no longer available for purchase.

For your consideration Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1956 Gibson GA-40 Les Paul amplifier.
Back in the 1950's Gibson sold amps and guitars as sets under the premise that the guitar would sound better through the amp that was designed for it to be played through. This model from 1956 was sold in just that fashion but in recent years tone connoisseurs have come to value and seek out the GA-40 for its excellent tone. Teaming a pair of 6V6 tubes with a Jensen 12" speaker this was not the most powerful of amps that Gibson made at the time. The amp is rated at 14-16 watts but it truly can breathe fire into a guitar solo with great gain tone similar to the Fender Tweed Deluxe with which it competed in the day. This combination of power tubes along with an unusual array of preamp tubes sounds simply amazing through the original Jensen P12Q 12" speaker.
This amp has all it original components, and it sounds great! Please call us for other details...410-571-9660
