For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents 1946 Gibson J-45.

The Gibson J-45 is widely recognized as the brand's most famous acoustic guitar model, often referred to as the "workhorse" of guitars, these specifically are an acoustic guitar that has been used on countless recordings and live sessions through the years. Introduced in 1934, the J-45 was Gibson's answer to Martin's 1930s "D" series but It features the "J" designation. It differs from Martin's dreadnoughts in that the Gibson J-45 has a body depth of over 4 inches and a slightly larger body than the Martin D Series guitars. Additionally, the body shapes vary significantly, with Martins having squarish upper bouts and Gibsons featuring a rounded or sloped shoulder. Although Martin was the first to create a sloped shoulder guitar, the J-45's specifications are distinct and Gibson has popularized the slope shoulder design as their own. Celebrated for its sunburst finish, warm bass tones, impressive projection, and exceptional playability the J-45 is one of the world most popular acoustic guitars.

This example, from, 1946 retains many of the "Banner" years features including the large and chunky neck profile. This guitar is in fabulous condition and sounds wonderful. It features a mahogany neck, back and sides, spruce top, and a Brazilian rosewood bridge and fingerboard . Our luthier just reglued an X brace, a wing brace, installed a new saddle and set this one up. It sounds and plays amazingly! It has some weatherchecking but it is free of cracks.
