1956 Gibson Southern Jumbo

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1956 Gibson Southern Jumbo.

This 1956 Southern Jumbo is in excellent original condition with no major breaks or repairs. It features the classic slope-shoulder design that was standard until the 1960s as well as the 'belly-up' bridge design. There is a bit of player wear on the top and back, and the neck has been heavily played; likely because of the fantastic tone of this jumbo dreadnought. The neck is a comfortable soft-V shape that is hard to put down. As mentioned, the tone of this instrument is superb; boisterous, and well-balanced with a highly resonant sustain. This guitar is a great example of what made Gibson acoustics so famous.
