1966 Gibson SG Special
Couldn't load pickup availability
For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1966 Gibson SG Special.
This '66 SG Special features a killer Polaris White finish, which has worn over the past 60 years to a striking, weather-checked cream. The guitar is all-original except for the tuners, which are repro no-line Klusons. Otherwise, this SG Special is stock, featuring two hot P90s, factory pots and caps, and a vibrola tailpiece. It's easy to see why someone like Pete Townshend favored this model: crank your amp and those pickups absolutely bark, turning each note into a visceral experience not unlike Live at Leeds.
The only issue with this SG Special is a thin crack running from the pickup switch across the side and onto the back of the guitar by the control cavity. This crack is featured in the photos and reflected in our pricing. Because it's stable and presents no real concern, we've chosen not to repair it.
