1961 Martin D-18
For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1961 Martin D-18
As with most older Martins, this guitar came to us needing some TLC. The guitar had fallen into disrepair. Years ago, someone had added an oversized pickguard, that unfortunately, left a pretty large outline in the lacquer. Our on-site luthier, Taras Andre, was on call to reset the neck, reglue the top to the sides, replaced some of the kurfling, patched a hole in the side, reglued a couple of back braces, hand-crafted a replica bridge out of rosewood, plugged and redrilled the bridge plate, refretted the entire fingerboard, and then recreated the custom after-market pickguard that had been installed decades previous. Before any restoration had been done, we knew that this D-18 was a good one, and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome! This one stands with other late-50's early 60's Martins that we have had in our shop recently! Comes with a newer non-original hardshell case.
