1967 Fender Custom Telecaster

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1967 Fender Custom Telecaster.

In 1967, the Telecaster Custom was the most expensive Telecaster Fender offered. This example, serial number 188128, is a great representation of a late-'60s Custom with plenty of honest vintage character along the way.

This Telecaster features an early Indian rosewood fingerboard, dating from the period when Fender was transitioning away from Brazilian. It has the expected pearl dot inlays, transition logo, and original Kluson Deluxe tuners. The neck has been professionally refretted and fitted with a new nut, and the guitar has just been set up and is playing exceptionally well. The neck pickup has been rewound, and the tuner holes were previously routed for larger-shaft tuners.

Cosmetically, this is exactly the kind of wear we love to see on a vintage Telecaster. There is elbow wear on the front and buckle rash on the back, along with the usual honest wear and checking you'd expect from a well-played 1960s Fender. Nothing is out of the ordinary, and the overall presentation is that of a genuinely loved and well-used vintage instrument.

Most importantly, this Telecaster is a killer player. It plays wonderfully after its fresh setup and delivers all the punch, twang, and attitude you'd want from a great '60s Tele. This is a guitar that has been played hard, cared for, and still has plenty of life left in it.

This Custom Telecaster is accompanied by its original hardshell case.
