1954 Martin D-18

Martin

This guitar is in our Hall of Fame Collection and is no longer available for purchase.

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1954 Martin D-18

One great part about having a brick-and-mortar store is when those one owner guitars comes in, with plenty of stories and memories attached with it. This D-18 came into our shop just the other day by the daughter of the original owner. He played in a band in the DC area called the String Tweedlers, and would play the old electric guitar on the weekends with the band, but during the week, he would pick this D-18 up and play it. He sold the electric guitar before he passed, but this one, he kept on to.

This D-18 shows the signs of wear you'd like to see on an old guitar. The signs point to several years of playing, with some pick wear above the neck and around the pickguard. On the back, there are signs of buckle rash.

Our onsite luthier reset the neck and reglued the bridge, and this guitar is exactly what you want from a 65-year old D-18. It is very loud and very crisp. It is a great pickers guitar, with a lot of tone when strummed hard.

Comes with a non-original hardshell case.
