1953 Gibson J-45
For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1953 Gibson J-45.
The Gibson J-45 is widely recognized as the brand's most famous acoustic guitar model, often referred to as the "workhorse" of guitars. Introduced in 1934, the J-45 was Gibson's answer to Martin's 1930s "D" series, although it differs from Martin's dreadnoughts in its body size and depth. The J-45 also features rounded or "slope-shoulder" upper bouts compared to Martin's square shoulder. Although Martin was the first to create a slope-shoulder guitar, the J-45's specifications are distinct and Gibson popularized this design as their own. Celebrated for its sunburst finish, warm bass tones, impressive projection and exceptional playability, the J-45 is one of the world's most popular acoustic guitars.
This J-45 from 1953 is in wonderful original condition. It has a lovely sunburst but the tone is deep and rich. It does not need a neck reset and the action is superb.
