1943 Martin 0-18
For your consideration Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1943 Martin 0-18.
The Martin 0-18 guitar is revered for its craftsmanship and tonal quality. This guitar features a smaller body size, known as the "0" shape, which provides a comfortable playability and a bright, articulate sound. The top is made of solid Sitka spruce, contributing to its excellent projection and response, while the back and sides are crafted from mahogany, offering warmth and depth to the overall tone.
The neck is made of Honduran mahogany with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, bridge and headstock overly, all providing an excellent playing surface and a comfortable feel. The original tuning machines work well to ensure precise tuning stability, making it a reliable choice for serious musicians.
Collectively, the 1943 Martin 0-18 guitar is not just an instrument but a piece of musical history, cherished by collectors and players alike for its rich sound and timeless design. Its balanced tone is ideal for both fingerstyle playing and strumming, making it a versatile choice for various musical genres. Bob Dylan famously played an 0-18, as did Steve Earle, and for good reason. These little Martins are perfect for the singer-songwriter.
This lovely wartime era 0-18 is a true survivor that has just been refurbished by our luthier with a new saddle, a neck reset, and top crack and brace repairs. It has a stable center seam crack that has been addressed. The result of this work is a superb, focused tone with excellent playability.
