For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1984 PRS Pre Factory Metal
This pre factory PRS was made by Paul Smith himself. It is one of a very small handful of guitars that Paul made prior to opening the factory in 1985. This guitar has a rich history, it was taken to the first trade shows that Paul & his small team went to in New Orleans in 1985. Ted Nugent played this guitar when he jammed with Eddie Van Halen at that show in New Orleans. The Metal models were only offered by PRS for a short time in the mid 1980s and were stripped and painted by the late Bud Davis who painted most if not all of the early PRS. It features many early features including the chrome tuner wings with position arrows, pickups hand would by Paul and a blue lined case. This collectors guitars also sounds and plays amazingly and it is remarkable how precise the build quality was for a handmade guitar but also in the resemblance that this guitar shares with the production guitars. It comes with a set of photos and letters that document its provenance and will be sold with a letter from Paul himself.
