Handbuilt by Roy McAlister with a clear reverence for the golden-era steel-string tradition, this 00-21 combines understated elegance, exceptional responsiveness, and a mature, balanced voice that belies its compact dimensions.

At the heart of this instrument is a solid spruce top paired with solid mahogany back and sides. This classic combination yields a tone that is warm and articulate, with a sweetness in the trebles, a rich and supportive midrange, and a surprisingly robust low end for a guitar of this size. McAlister’s use of scalloped X-bracing allows the top to respond effortlessly to the player’s touch, producing remarkable dynamic sensitivity and a lively, open character that continues to reward nuanced playing.

The 00 body size strikes a particularly appealing balance between comfort and projection.
