For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this outstanding 1976 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe.
Introduced in 1969, the Les Paul Deluxe marked Gibson’s return to the Les Paul lineup after nearly a decade away, blending classic single-cut styling with then-modern Norlin-era construction. By the mid-1970s, the Deluxe had firmly established itself as a distinctive voice in the Les Paul family, pairing a solid, weighty build with the clarity and articulation of mini humbuckers. These guitars are celebrated for their focused midrange, tight low end, and exceptional note definition.
This example is in very good condition, showing average to below-average wear for its age, with no major cosmetic blemishing. There is a professionally repaired de-lamination on the treble side between the upper and lower bouts, which is now cleanly stabilized and has no impact on structural integrity, playability, or tone. The original Tobacco Burst finish has aged attractively, retaining strong color saturation and vintage character throughout.
The guitar features a 3-piece maple neck with a comfortable medium C profile, offering a solid, confident feel in the hand without excess bulk. The rosewood fingerboard is fitted with pearl trapezoid inlays and retains its original frets in excellent condition, providing smooth playability across the full register with plenty of life remaining.
Electronics are entirely original and centered around a pair of Gibson mini humbuckers, delivering the articulate, cutting tone that defines the Deluxe model. Compared to full-size humbuckers, these pickups offer enhanced clarity and focus, with a crisp top end and well-controlled low frequencies. The traditional control layout—two volumes, two tones, and a three-way selector—allows for a wide range of expressive tonal shaping.
All hardware remains original, including the Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, finished in chrome. The guitar has a strong acoustic presence, with excellent sustain and a tight, immediate response when amplified.
This 1976 Les Paul Deluxe represents a compelling opportunity to acquire a well-preserved, highly original Norlin-era Gibson—a model increasingly appreciated for its build quality, tonal character, and place in Gibson history. It is equally suited to the discerning collector or the player seeking a distinctive vintage Les Paul with unmistakable personality.
It comes complete with its original Gibson hardshell case.
