For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1971 Martin D-35.
Just in is this D-35, consigned to us by the original owner, who bought it new at Manny's in New York in 1971. It's 100% original and fairly clean when it comes to play-wear. However, there are three cracks in the top, highlighted in the pictures because they are difficult to detect otherwise; however, these cracks seem to be stable: the most prominent runs from the back of the bridge toward the endpin; the next is a typical Martin pickguard crack; and the last is on the treble side upper bout, running parallel to the fretboard. The Indian rosewood back is also bellying some. These are common issues among vintage acoustics, especially with '70s Martins, and can be repaired.
At any rate, this is a rich D-35 with great bass response and articulate top end that would serve well either with a flatpick or fingerstyle. It would also make the perfect gateway guitar for someone looking to enter the vintage acoustic world.
