For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1967 Martin 00-16C, a nylon-string model from Martin’s mid-century classical line.
Introduced in the early 1960s, the 00-16C offered players a comfortable 00-size body paired with traditional classical construction. This 1967 example remains largely original, with the exception of an aftermarket pickup installed prior to our acquisition.
This 00 shows honest play-wear throughout, consistent with decades of regular use. The finish exhibits typical signs of aging, including some rash on the back. Overall, the wear presents as the natural patina of a well-played vintage instrument.
To improve playability, our luthier has compensated the saddle and performed a professional setup, resulting in improved intonation and a comfortable response across the fingerboard. These adjustments allow the instrument to perform reliably while preserving its vintage character.
It comes with an aftermarket chipboard case (no handle).
This 1967 00-16C represents a fine example of Martin’s nylon-string production from the 1960s—an approachable vintage classical offering warm tone, comfortable proportions, and the seasoned character that comes only with time. Equally appealing to the player seeking a responsive vintage nylon-string and the enthusiast drawn to Martin’s lesser-seen classical models.
