For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1967 Fender Dual Showman Head.

A commanding example of Fender’s "Blackface"-era design, this Dual Showman delivers the powerful, piano-like clean headroom and articulate high-end that made the AB763 platform legendary. With its enormous low-end authority, glassy top response, and dynamic touch sensitivity, the Dual Showman was built for large stages and remains one of the most authoritative clean amplifiers Fender ever produced. Whether paired with a 2x15 or 2x12 cabinet, it offers the bold, three-dimensional tone that defined countless live performances of the mid-1960s.

This example dates to early 1967, a timeframe supported by the power transformer code (606701), which is the latest code present. While the power transformer and choke are original Schumacher units, the output transformer has been professionally replaced with a modern Heyboer unit. The amp has also been updated with a grounded 3-prong power cord for safe, reliable operation. It retains its original Blackface AB763 circuit architecture and delivers the strong, clear, harmonically rich response these amps are known for.

Notably, a ~1 3/4" circle has been professionally drilled through the bottom of the cabinet on the inside, likely for cable management. Because no hole currently appears in the bottom Tolex, it is likely that this head has been re-covered. Additionally, there are five cleanly drilled holes of varying diameters through the back of the chassis. Whether these represent modifications that were reversed later, or perhaps never fully implemented, is unknown. As a result, the wiring inside the chassis may not be entirely original, though the amp retains its classic Blackface functionality and tone.

This amplifier is consigned to Garrett Park Guitars by the Paul Reed Smith Research & Development team. Paul and his R&D staff are always on the lookout for gear that simply plays and sounds great—whether pristine or well-loved. The purpose of their research is to understand why certain examples of a familiar line exhibit exceptional tone, often purchasing them to study and dissect every detail. That pedigree bodes extremely well for the sonic character of this player-grade Showman, which benefits from the discerning ears of one of the world’s most respected guitar designers and his team.

Please note: this amp is on consignment, so trades aren't advisable. Preference will be given to fee-free payment methods (cash, check, wire transfer, etc.)
