For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this exceptionally rare matched set of 1962 Gibson PAF humbucker pickups and original SG wiring harness, sourced intact from a single 1962 Gibson SG.

Few components are more closely associated with the golden era of Gibson electrics than the original Patent Applied For (PAF) humbuckers. Celebrated for their unmatched clarity, dimensional harmonic bloom, and highly responsive dynamics, original PAFs remain among the most coveted vintage guitar components ever produced. This complete assembly offers a rare opportunity to acquire not just a pair of double-black PAFs, but their full, factory-original SG electronics ecosystem preserved together.

At some point in their lifetime, this set of PAFs received chrome covers, likely installed to visually match an aftermarket ABR-1 bridge fitted to the instrument during its working life. Beneath the covers, the pickups remain structurally and electrically original, retaining the classic PAF stickers, period-correct tooling marks, and brass baseplate screws consistent with pre-patent number Gibson production. The original braided nickel lead wire exhibits appropriate oxidation and handling wear expected of a 64-year-old set of humbuckers, further supporting their untouched internal integrity. Both coils remain strong and balanced, with DC resistance readings of 7.89kΩ (bridge, with full sticker) and 7.71kΩ (neck, partial sticker).

The pickups are paired with their original 1962 SG wiring harness, featuring four matched Centralab potentiometers dated October 1962 (1346241). These pots remain fully functional and display correct factory coding consistent with late-1962 Gibson production. The harness also includes the original Switchcraft three-way pickup selector, Switchcraft output jack, a pair of 0.02μF tone capacitors, and the original "poker chip," all retained in situ as removed from the instrument.

Every component in this assembly remains in excellent cosmetic and functional condition, exhibiting only age-appropriate patina and light wear consistent with careful long-term use. The result is a remarkably complete and coherent snapshot of early-1960s Gibson SG electronics, preserved as a single matched system rather than separated or rebuilt over time.

Offered as a complete, historically significant electronics set, this is an outstanding opportunity for collectors, restorers, and tone purists seeking an authentic early-’60s Gibson PAF platform with original factory wiring intact.
