For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1962 Fender Jazzmaster, finished in a striking original Blonde nitrocellulose lacquer with tortoise shell pickguard.

We purchased this Jazzmaster from its original owner, who bought it in the Baltimore area in 1963. Such a provenance helps explain why it has remained in excellent overall condition, showing average play-wear and little to no lacquer checking. The original translucent Blonde finish has aged beautifully, allowing the ash grain to subtly show through while retaining its classic vintage character. Structurally, the instrument remains exceptionally clean with no cracks, breaks, or repairs

The guitar retains its original narrow frets, clay dots, floating tremolo system, tortoise shell pickguard, Kluson Deluxe single-line tuners, and other period-correct hardware. Sonically, the original Jazzmaster pickups deliver the signature wide, piano-like low end, airy high frequencies, and dynamic response that make early Jazzmasters so inspiring to play.

This early-’60s Blonde Jazzmaster represents a beautifully preserved and highly desirable rare-finish example from Fender’s golden era—offering exceptional playability, timeless aesthetics, and the unmistakable voice that has made the model a favorite among generations of players.

Notable Jazzmaster players include surf pioneers such as The Beach Boys’ studio guitarists, as well as later artists including Elvis Costello, J Mascis, Nels Cline, and Thurston Moore.

It comes complete with its original brown Fender hardshell case.
