For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1961 Gibson ES-335TD

The Gibson ES-335 is one of the most sought after guitars in the world. Players like Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee, Larry Carlton and on and on made the 335 a legend.

This model is extraordinary. It was purchased in 2006 from the original owner who had lovingly played it since it was bought new. It is in very clean shape and is all original except for replaced tuner tips and a pro refret. The color is strong and vibrant and the guitar has a magical resonant tone. The PAF pickups are strong and articulate and are untouched. It comes with its original ABR-1 bridge, white plastic strap pins, leather strap and clean brown Lifton case.

Some guitars are special and this is one of them.

The legendary Ted McCarty, President of Gibson during the era, felt the ES-335 was right behind the Les Paul solid body as his most important body design.

"I came up with the idea of putting a solid block of maple in an acoustic model... it would get some of the same tone as a regular solidbody, plus the instrument's hollow wings would vibrate and we'd get a combination of an electric solidbody and a hollowbody guitar." –Ted McCarty in an interview with Gil Hembree for Gibson Guitars, Ted McCarty's Golden Era.
