1960 Gibson Les Paul Special in a Cherry finish.

For your consideration is this 1960 Gibson Les Paul Special. The slab mahogany body is finished in a cherry red with symmetrical rounded double cutaways. Two blistering P-90 pickups, volume and tone for each pickup, pickup selector switch located by the bridge.

This is a transitional model that still has the chunky '59 style neck, and the neck pickup is still located close to the neck, and not moved away as models from later in 1960, contributing to an amazing neck pickup tone. The Les Paul silk screen was not used on these models (beginning in late '59) but this model retain's all the other features of the '59.

Overall this guitar is in very nice shape, and has no cracks or structural damage. The neck, frets and tuners are all in good shape and it has had a recent set up and it plays great!

Two of the potentiometers were changed as was some of the wiring and the guitar has a newer hardshell case.

This is a fantastic example of an older Les Paul that is ready to gig or record.
