For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1946 Gibson SJ.

The Gibson Southern Jumbo or SJ guitar was initially introduced in 1942 and built as a more deluxe version of the J-45. By some reports it was done at the request of Gibson's sales people to appeal to players in the Southern States.

This 75 year old model from 1946 was purchased in Ohio and then moved with its original owner to Colorado Springs Colorado in the late 1940s. It was owned by a woman who used in sparingly and we purchased it from her daughter.

It features a Mahogany body, neck block, and Mahogany neck with a two piece bookmatched Sitka spruce top. Its spruce top adds a good deal of crisp upper end to the tone of the guitar while the mahogany back and sides add great bottom end and a beautiful finish to the guitar. Comes with original hardshell case.
Our luthier repaired two cracks (one on the side and one on the back) as well as regluing two of the braces. Its good to go for another 75 years!

Condition: Excellent

Case: OHSC
