For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1943 Gibson J-45

Now owned by Ry Cooder

Just in is this 1943 Gibson J-45. Made by the Kalamazoo Gals during the war, the Banner headstock Gibsons are some of the most desired guitars.

When we bought this guitar it sounded good but we knew it was going to take quite a lot to get this guitar back to its former glory. The neck was reset, the original bridge plate holes were plugged, we installed a new bridge as the old one had been shaved down. A new bridge was crafted from old rosewood and repositioned for accurate setup. The back was taken off to access & remove over 30 cleats.

At some point, there was a patch installed on the side of the guitar. This patch was replaced and the repair is hard to notice. Before the back was re-installed, several cracks that had stepped over time were heated and flattened out. The entire back was gingerly oversprayed, and the area where the patch was replaced was also lightly oversprayed. The neck was then reset and the frets leveled and recrowned. The results are magical. This is one of the best sounding Gibson acoustics in the shop right now.

It comes with a non-original hardshell case.
