1950s Teisco Model A Lap Steel
For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1950s Teisco Model A Lap Steel
Teisco was a Japanese builder that built knock offs of American-made guitars beginning in 1946. Teisco stands for Tokyo Electric Instrument and Sound Company.
It's not entirely clear when Teisco began making Lap Steels but this 1950s Model A is one of the more ornate models we've seen. The neck has a twist in it but can be taken out with a heat press and care.
It has a sleek gloss black finish with abalone inlays and a wonderful rich sounding pickup.
With the exception of the volume knob (working but broken) this is a very clean and cool/vibey instrument.
