1964/1968 Gibson ES-335 TDC
For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1964/1968 Gibson ES-335 TDC
Here we have what appears to be a ES-335 that began life as a 1964, but was apparently sent back to Gibson where it received a new neck. Unlike Fender factory work, identifiable by markings impressed into the body under the pickguards, Gibson's work, which may have been coverered under warranty, is not as easily identifiable, leaving us to look closer at features and other markers. This guitar has its serial number reproduced on the back of the headstock in the fashion and font that Gibson used in their Kalamazoo factory for such work. It is our opinion that the neck may have been broken and the fingerboard, tuners and headstock overly were reapplied to a new neck that had a 1 9/16" nut width which was typical of Gibson ES necks in the late '60s. At one time an additional hole was drilled through the pickguard and body for a master volume. The hole in the body has been filled and repaired, and a new pickguard installed.
This is a great player vintage piece that is a fine player at a fraction of the cost of an unmolested '64 model.
