1964 Fender Stratocaster
For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1964 Fender Stratocaster.
Just in is this 1964 Stratocaster, it is in excellent condition with some restoration done in our shop. The bridge, bridge pickup & tuners were replaced in 1977 with Fender parts from in an attempt to keep the guitar playing like new, but all original parts were retained. To restore the tuners we drilled the holes made for Schaller tuners, then dowelled the headstock with maple and refit the original Kluson tuners. The original bridge and saddles just went right back in as did the bridge pickup. The soldier on the bridge pickup was redone when the pickup was reinstalled.
This guitar also bears the mark of a Fender factory refinish which may have occurred while still after Fender, or a year or so later as the finish appears to be from 1965. The original owner was super careful with this guitar and his widow said it was his favorite possession. He played in a few Southern Rock bands in North and South Carolina but always babied this guitar.
In terms of playability, this Strat is an amazing example of why these Pre-CBS Strats are so sought after. The ample C shaped neck fits perfectly in your hand and is hard to put down. The pickups are quite lively with that classic spark to them. Comes with the original hardshell case & tremolo bar.
