Kent Guitars were the product of a New York distributor who contracted factories in Japan & elsewhere beginning in 1960 to make models for distribution in the US and other markets. Kent Guitars were also made in Sweden but this model is clearly a MIJ product that was likely the work of Teisco or Guyatone.
This lovely specimen is in excellent condition and would be considered mint were it not for some light weather checking. The guitar features two single-coil pickups, a three-way switch, and master volume and tone controls. It also has a very stable and usable tremolo system and its original case. Playability is a bit better than one might expect from a Japanese import and we set the intonation and action for optimum playability.
It's not often you see these types of guitars in this condition as most were first guitars for younger players who played them hard. This one is for the player or collector who wants something cool and unusual but not a budget breaker. All original but missing headstock sticker.
