This Martin 0-18K was built in Nazareth Pennsylvania & intended for use as a slide guitar these were built for and used by the Hawaiian music community, a style of music which was very popular at that time.
Martin utilized the parlor’s size 0 body, the 0-18K used Hawaiian Koa for the top, sides, and back, Central American Mahogany for the neck with a plain and unbound Ebony fingerboard and Ebony bridge. At the time this example was built straight Bar frets were still used. A slotted peghead was used to allow for greater downbearing at the nut and better support of the tuning gear posts.
The bridge & bridge plate were replaced and a strap pin was added on the neck.
It's a beautifully figured Koa Martin that is lovely to behold and play!
