For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1957 Gibson Les Paul Jr.
New to the shop is this 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior in good, player-vintage shape. Apart from the obvious signs of player wear, the neck had been sanded down at one point for a more satin-like feel. It looks like there was once a Maestro vibrola attached at one point that has since been removed and dowelled. Pots were also replaced but the capacitor is the original bumblebee. The pickup appears to possibly be an aftermarket one as does the pickup cover. The input jack plate, bridge & back cover plate have also been replaced. Several screws are newer as are the strap pins. It was just professionally refretted with a new nut. There is a slight but repaired crack by the tuners on the back of the treble side of the headstock where the screw appears to have been overtightened.
But...as a player, this Junior is astounding. Smooth playability combined with a solid mahogany body and single P-90 makes for a powerful yet versatile guitar. The weight balance is fantastic too at 7lb 6oz.
