For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1948 Martin D-18
They say it never happens anymore, but this guitar was found at a public works auction and it went for an astonishingly low price. When we received it, it had a crack in its side that we repaired as well as a neck reset and refret.
The end result is a gorgeous sounding guitar, with a tone that ranges from the lowlands to snowy peaks. This Martin plays well too, whether you're a flat picker or a finger stylist, you're going to love how this guitar feels in your hands, and how it responds to what you put into it. It has a soft V-shaped neck that is ergonomically pleasing. Aesthetically, this guitar obviously shows some signs of its wear, most notably around the sound hole and tortoiseshell pickguard and a chip on the headstock. Our luthier repaired an issue on the bottom of the guitar near the end pin (final result pictured), he also doweled the holes for the tuners and reinstalled the originals.
