For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this left-handed 1970 Gibson SG Standard.

1970 marks an interesting period in Gibson history, with the SG continuing the design language established in the late ’60s while incorporating the construction features that would define the Norlin era. Being a clean lefty, this 1970 model is a particularly compelling example of the era.

Presented in excellent condition, this SG shows the kind of honest wear that comes from careful use over five decades. The cherry finish has aged over time, complemented by fine checking throughout and tasteful play-wear that gives the instrument a wonderful sense of character while remaining structurally excellent with no cracks, breaks, or repairs.

Beyond its rarity as a left-handed example, which gives strong Tony Iommi vibes, this SG is mostly original, retaining its large pickguard, ABR-1 bridge, Lyre vibrola, and witch hat knobs. The neck features Gibson’s late-’60s/early-’70s 3-piece construction with a comfortable chunky C profile, offering the substantial feel players often seek from this era of Gibson instruments.

This SG has received a full refret for improved playability, with the original fret wire and nut included. The guitar is currently fitted with Kluson Deluxe repros, but the original tuners are likewise included. All other components remain original and the guitar comes with its original hardshell case.
