For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1968 Gibson Dove.
Introduced in the early 1960s as one of Gibson’s new square-shoulder dreadnoughts, the Dove quickly established itself as one of the company’s most distinctive acoustic designs. With its maple back and sides, Sitka spruce top, and unmistakable Dove aesthetic, this 1968 example captures the character of Gibson’s late-’60s production while retaining the appointments that made the model so enduring.
This guitar delivers the combination of projection, clarity, and warmth for which maple-backed Gibson acoustics are known, with a comfortable 25.5-inch scale and medium C neck profile that make it an especially enjoyable player. Cosmetically, it is in excellent condition, exhibiting below-average wear for a nearly 60-year-old instrument. Structurally, it is equally impressive, with only one repaired top crack. A reproduction Dove pickguard is currently installed with adhesive, while the original screw-on guard is included in the case.
This 1968 Gibson Dove comes with a Martin hardshell case.
