For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1967 Fender Esquire Custom in Sunburst.
The Fender Esquire was originally introduced in 1950 as a simple, affordable guitar aimed at professional musicians. In 1959, Fender introduced the Esquire Custom, which dolled up the plain-Jane model with a sunburst finish, white body binding, and a rosewood fingerboard. By the late 1960s, however, the Esquire Custom had become less popular, making examples from that era a rare collector's item.
This guitar from July of 1967 is in excellent condition. It has a vibrant Sunburst finish over a bound alder body. The binding is also in excellent condition and the chrome hardware is shiny and unpitted. The neck and frets are both in excellent condition and this is a superb player with excellent Fender Tele/Esquire tone in all positions. The Esquire relies on capacitors for its various tonal differences and these along with all the other electronics are original and untouched. It also features a lovely and unspolied Fender Spaghetti logo
It is almost entirely original, but like Bruce Springsteens own Esquire a neck pickup was added at one point The good news is the original pickguard was saved and an aftermarket Telecaster guard was used BUT the neck pickup was mounted in the pickguard and not screwed into the body. The only modification that was done was to slightly enlarge the neck pickup cavity but we have made an adjustment in the price to compensate for that.
This is an excellent opportunity to own a rare 1967 Fender Esquire Custom that plays and sounds amazingly.
