For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1949 Gibson LG-2.

Introduced in 1942, Gibson's LG series succeeded the L-00 as the brand's flagship small-body, budget-friendly offering. Due to supply limitations, only the LG-2 remained in continuous production during World War II. When the other models were rereleased in peacetime, it became the only one to combine X-bracing with Gibson's classic sunburst finish.

This 1949 LG-2 is perhaps the best example we have encountered in our 35 years of business. Cosmetically and structurally, it speaks to careful custodianship during its lifetime, exhibiting remarkably below-average wear for its age and no cracks or evidence of repair. With the exception of replaced tuner tips, the guitar remains 100% original down to the bridge plate and is accompanied by a modern hardshell case.

Despite its exceptional condition, the guitar is meant to be played. It packs that signature midrange honk, looking and sounding like a J-45 distilled to its essence thanks to the smaller body. By avoiding both the low-end boom of a dreadnought and the harsh treble of a parlor, this LG-2 perfectly frames the human voice, making for excellent accompaniment across a number of genres.

This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Gibson history that remains completely ready for the stage or studio.
