For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1953 Gibson LG-1.

Small-bodied, ladder-braced, and too often overlooked, the LG-1 has long been appreciated for its warmth and character by those in the know. This example features the typical spruce-over-mahogany construction in sunburst, with a rosewood bridge and teardrop pickguard, as well as an aftermarket vintage DeArmond RHC-B pickup, providing a period-appropriate option for players looking to take things beyond the living room.

The guitar has seen its share of use over the decades, with average play-wear, finish checking, and probably a full overspray. Several cracks are present in the top, back, and end block, but all have been repaired and are stable. The original frets remain, while aftermarket Grover "butterbeans" have replaced the original strip tuners. Its full neck and compact body make for an inviting playing experience with a character all its own.

The factory order number is partially obscured by smudged ink. The prefix could be "Y," signalling 1953. At any rate, the teardrop pickguard corroborates a pre-'54 manufacture date.

This Gibson LG-1 comes with a padded gig bag.
