No For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1960 Gibson Country Western.
The Country Western is a classic dreadnought that has long been a favorite among singer-songwriters and working rhythm players. Sharing most of its DNA with the Southern Jumbo, the CW offers the same unmistakable Gibson character in a clean natural finish that highlights the beauty of its construction.
This example from 1961 ("R" factory order number) is in very good condition, showing average to below-average wear for its age and retaining an attractive, honest vintage appearance. Structurally, it is in excellent condition, with no cracks or breaks. Professionally completed maintenance includes a neck reset and full refret. Our luthier also added material to the base of the bridge to restore its proper height, ensuring the guitar plays comfortably and performs as it should for years to come.
With a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, this example produces the dry, open midrange and broad projection associated with vintage Gibson acoustics from this era. The voice is warm and balanced, with a strong fundamental response and a slightly compressed dynamic that works exceptionally well for vocal accompaniment. Whether played with fingers or a heavy strum, the guitar responds easily and delivers the kind of rich, supportive chordal texture that sits naturally in a mix or beneath the voice.
This Gibson Country Western includes its original hardshell case.
