1966 Fender Jaguar

Garrett Park Guitars

This guitar is in our Hall of Fame Collection and is no longer available for purchase.

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1966 Fender Jaguar.

In super clean condition this 1966 Fender Jaguar was just purchased from the original owner who sadly never learned to play it and chose to keep it cased all these years. Purchased in 1966 from Oak Brook Music in Illinois, the owners father bought him the best Fender that the shop had. This guitar, in near if not mint condition is a collectors guitar that a player would also love. Comes with original case, tremolo bar, strap, bridge cover and the mute's rubber looks new too!

The Fender Jaguar is an electric guitar made Fender Musical Instruments and is characterized by an offset-waist body, a relatively unusual switching system with two separate circuits for lead and rhythm, and a medium-scale 24" neck. Owing some roots to the Jazzmaster, it was introduced in 1962 as Fender's feature-laden top-of-the-line model, designed to lure players from Gibson. During its initial 13-year production run, the Jaguar did not sell as well as the less expensive Stratocaster and Telecaster, and achieved its most noticeable popularity in the surf music. After the Jaguar was taken out of production in 1975, vintage Jaguars became popular first with punk rockers, and then more so during the alternative and indie rock movements of the 1980s and 90s. The Jaguar remains sought after for todays players of various genres.
