For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1964 Harmony Silvertone H1454, a character-rich hollowbody equipped with its original DeArmond pickups.
Built by Harmony in Chicago during the height of the catalog guitar era, the H1454 embodies the airy resonance and distinctive tonal personality that have made mid-’60s Silvertone instruments enduring favorites among players and collectors alike. Its fully hollow body delivers a warm, woody acoustic voice, while the factory-installed DeArmond silver foil pickups provide the articulate sparkle, punchy midrange, and slightly microphonic liveliness for which these guitars are celebrated.
This example remains in good condition for its age, showing uniform lacquer checking and honest, average play-wear throughout. The sunburst finish has aged gracefully, retaining vibrance. The original open-back tuners were replaced with a Kluson-style set for enhanced tuning stability (but without extra holes or drilling). The electronics appear original and all functions operate as intended. The frets appear original and retain good remaining life, offering a comfortable and authentic playing experience. Structurally, the guitar is free of cracks or evidence of repair.
This 1964 Silvertone H1454 represents a sharp example of Harmony’s mid-century craftsmanship—lightweight, resonant, and full of unmistakable vintage character. Equally suited to stage, studio, or collection, it offers the distinctive look and tone that continue to define the appeal of classic Chicago-built electrics
