For your consideration Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1963 Fender Stratocaster in original Sunburst finish

I have been after this guitar for over 30 years. I first met the owner of this guitar in a club in Richmond Virginia. A friend had suggested that I check out a local Blues band and I was happy to discover that the guitarist was playing this guitar through a black face Deluxe Reverb. Later during the break I went out back to talk to him and found him leaning on his 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible that was painted light green (Surf?) with a white top, white interior and factory 8 track. Being a fan, and fellow GTO owner, I quickly made friends and expressed my interest in owning both the car and the guitar. Fast forward from 1983 to 2015 and I finally got the chance to get this one. When my friend got it from a Southside Virginia pawn shop, it had black plastic on it. It was later converted to its present pickguard (from a Fender Road Worn) and the correct plastic parts that he later obtained. There are several mportant features that make this vintage Strat a standout, firstly the neck is chunky and yet comfortable, the fretwork done by John Ingram is also spot on. The pickups really define the tone of this guitar, and are super percussive and powerful without being overbearing.Though the pickguard is non original, it has worn smooth on the edges and has the patina one would expect to see on a '64 or '65 model. Though not 100% original this Strat has the important components of a vintage piece and delivers tone and playability in spades.

Original parts: Neck and Body, paint on body, pickups, tremolo, tremolo claw and springs, knobs, pickup covers, input jack, decals, neckplate, white case with red interior

Non Original parts: Frets, pickguard, tuners, saddles, neck overspray, 5 way switch (original 3 way included)
