Harmony Guitars of Chicago, Illinois produced many of the instruments sold under the Silvertone name through Sears, Roebuck & Co. The Sears catalog was a fixture of mid-century Americana, and for countless aspiring musicians, browsing its pages was an early introduction to the world of guitars and the possibilities of becoming a rock 'n' roll star.

Priced at $199.50 in the 1958 Sears catalog, the H63 Espanada was one of Silvertone's more ambitious electric guitars, combining a single-cutaway archtop design with a pair of Gibson-made P-13 single-coil pickups. With its gleaming black finish, nickel hardware, pearl-style appointments, and unmistakable Art Deco-inspired styling, the Espanada has a visual presence to match its unique voice.

This particular example retains its original construction and electronics, including a pair of Gibson-made P-13 pickups that sound fantastic. The guitar is all original with the exception of the replaced pickguard, and everything functions exactly as it should. It comes housed in a well-worn but sturdy Gretsch hardshell case. With its bold looks, distinctive Gibson pickups, and unmistakable late-'50s character, this Espanada is as much a looker as it is a player.
